At St. Teresa of Avila Parish, our Religious Education program exists to help children and families grow in a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. Through faithful catechesis rooted in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the teachings of the Catholic Church, 
we strive to form disciples who know, love, and live the Catholic faith.

We believe that parents are the primary educators of their children in the faith. 
Our program partners with families by providing solid Catholic formation, sacramental preparation, prayer, and opportunities to grow together as members of our parish community.

Our Religious Education offerings include:

• Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Ages 4–6) – A hands-on, prayer-centered approach to faith formation that introduces young children to the love of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, through Sacred Scripture, liturgy, and age-appropriate activities in a peaceful, reflective environment.
  
  
• First Holy Communion Preparation – A two-year program that helps children deepen their understanding of God's love and prepares them to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist.
  
  
• Confirmation Preparation – A two-year journey of faith that invites young people to grow as committed disciples of Christ through prayer, study, service, and preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
  
  
• Family Faith Formation – Designed to equip and encourage parents as the primary educators of their children in the faith. Parents and children journey together in faith through prayer, catechesis, and active participation in parish life. This program strengthens the domestic church by helping families live the Catholic faith together at home and in the parish community.
  
  

Our Family Faith Formation model encourages parents to actively participate in their children's faith journey, strengthening the domestic church and fostering a vibrant Catholic community.

Registration is now open. A copy of your child's Baptismal Certificate is required at the time of registration. Classes begin in September, with schedules varying by program.
