Prosper Placer serves families who live in poverty and who are motivated to make lasting changes in their lives. Our mission is to facilitate families to prosper in our community. We address social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and financial poverty through education, goal setting and connection to resources and advocating for needed services that are absent within the community. Proper Placer utilizes volunteers to provide a network of support for the journey out of poverty. Volunteers, called “Allies”, share their experiences, knowledge and connections to help these families, whom we call “Change Leaders”, problem solve and get ahead. There are weekly meetings which include time for relationship-building, a structured curriculum, mutual accountability, goal setting and celebration of success. A communal meal and childcare are provided for the families. Please contact Trish Jensen (916)207-4060 and Russ Zeller (530)878-9301 to learn more.
