Members of the Altar Society care for the altar linens. Altar linens include altar cloths, corporals, purificators, lavabo towels, and palls. Members also care for the albs worn by the altar servers. For this ministry, members agree to a monthly schedule and collect the used cloths after Mass, cleanse them in a respectful manner, and return them to the sacristy in a timely manner for the Sunday and weekly Masses.  The manner in which we treat sacred things fosters and expresses our openness to the graces from God.  The Secretariat for the Liturgy has provided this information for those charged with the care of altar linens: The cloths used at the altar in the course of the Eucharistic celebration should be treated with the care and respect due to those things used in the preparation and celebration of the sacred mysteries.
